The NOVA G3 Chuck is precisely machined from 1045 machine grade steel, and comes with anti-release spindle lock. This chuck is a dedicated threaded 1 in. 8TPI RH/LH version, exclusively for use on the NOVA Comet II Mini Lathe (and other lathes with the same thread size) This ensures the chuck will stay securely mounted on the lathe, throughout forward and reverse turning applications. The NOVA G3 chuck features a one handed, geared operation, for fast opening and closing, ideal for production turning of smaller pieces. The gears are strong and smooth. The NOVA G3 Chuck comes with advanced features such as automatic jaw safety stop so jaws won’t extend past the chuck, copper infused jaw slides which provide lubrication and resistance to wear. The small chuck size and weight minimizes loads on small spindles and bearings. The NOVA G3 chuck takes all 26+ NOVA accessory Jaws in the range (exception of Infinity and Titan III) to extend your capacity to tackle a wide range of projects. The NOVA 2 in. Chuck accessory jaws are a versatile all around set to get you started before moving onto more specialised jaws, and is able to handle both bowl and spigot projects. The NOVA 4 in. Chuck Accessory jaws are designed for expanded dovetail, reverse dovetail and for gripping of footed bowls, and is one of NOVA’s most popular jaws that mount 12-14 in. bowls. It can also mount false wooden jaws, so customised jaws can be made for special purposes. The NOVA Pin Accessoy Jaws are extended jaws that act like a Pin Chuck, expanding into a pre-bored hole, which is a useful technique for free form edge bowls as you don’t have to bore an exact size. The longer jaws allow for a very powerful spigot grip for smaller work. This set also features a small dovetail which grips work away from the chuck face, allowing access to some outside bowl turning.
